Rules and Bylaws
2005/2006 Fast Pitch Ground Rules
1. A time limit of 1 hour and 15 minutes will be in affect for all age divisions.
2. Games must be 3 innings or 2 1/2 if home team is ahead, to be an official game.
3. The 6-8 yr. old division will play 5 innings with pitching machine the entire game.
4.The 9-10
yr. old division will play 6 innings with pitching machine the entire
game.
( two weeks into season we will look and see if teams have a
pitcher)
5. The 11-13 yr. old division will play 6 innings. live pitching the first 3 and machine the remainder ( two weeks into season we will look and see if teams can pitch the entire game)
6. The 14-17 yr. old division will play 7 innings. live pitching the entire game.
7. When the machine is in use, there will be 5 pitches or 3 strikes.
8. A 15 run rule after 3 innings, 12 run rule after 4 innings, and 10 after 5 innings.
9. There will be a
5 run rule of each at bat except for the last inning.
(5th inning is last for 6-8 yr.olds)
(6th inning is last for 9-10, 11-13 yr.olds) *11-13 will have a 3 run rule
when live pitching.
10. A batted ball
hitting the machine or umpire will be declared a dead ball,
runners advance 1 base if forced.
11. The
entire team must bat: however a team is only required to match the number of
batters
on the opposing team. free subs on defense and live pitchers *play all
girls on defense.
12. Late arriving players are added at the bottom of the batting order once the game has started
13. Must have at least 8 players to start a game. A forfeit will be call 10 minutes after an official start time. an out will be taken for your 9th batter.
14. If a player gets hurt or sick
during the game, she will be skipped over with no out taken,
unless you have less than 9 players.
15.When defensive player return
the ball to the pitching circle, and runners have stopped.
the play is dead and runners must return to the last base touched.
16. Bunting is allowed in all divisions except 6-8 year olds.
17. Base stealing is allowed in
all divisions except 6-8 year olds with these stipulations.
9-10 leave base when ball crosses plate. *only 2nd 3rd bases.
11-17 when ball leaves machine or pitchers hand
18. Helmets with chin straps to be worn at all times on field, Removed only in dugout!
19. Helmets intentionally removed while running or leaving field, Could be a called out!
20. No jewelry of any kind to be
worn on field. (ear rings, Necklaces, Bracelets, ect.)
( Ear Rings that can't be removed must be taped)
21. Uniforms that Players
received from HGSA must be worn.
( Shirts, Shorts, Pants and Socks)
